Women of the World, an award-winning international vocal ensemble made up of four singers and an instrumentalist/percussionist, performs original and traditional folk music with a contemporary twist, in 37 languages. Since 2008, they've journeyed through the music of Africa, South America, Asia, Europe, and the U.S., exhilarating audiences with songs enhanced by chants, storytelling, dance, percussion and improvisation. The four singers represent Japan, Turkey, India and the U.S. Mentored by GRAMMY Award-winning maestro Bobby McFerrin, they have collaborated with Nona Hendryx, Angelique Kidjo, Mario Frangoulis and the Boston Pops Orchestra. They won the World Champions title at the 2017 International A Cappella competition, have performed at Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center and toured North America, Hawai’i, Asia and Europe. Women of the World creates music that is borderless and spirited – music that carries the undeniable message of unity and peace.
