This concert features a wide variety of exceptional music groups drawn from the Shenandoah Valley community including the Massanutten Brass Band, an award-winning British-style band under the direction of JMU faculty member Kevin Stees, Good Company, a six-member a cappella group that won the 2018 Shenandoah Valley Sing Off, as well as guitarist Bobby Driver and singer Trudy Cole, a popular blues and swing couple who has been delighting Shenandoah Valley audiences for many years. An ensemble of students selected from Harrisonburg City Schools return to the lineup in an evening that combines performance, education and dialogue to engage audiences of all ages. This concert benefits Any Given Child Harrisonburg, a partnership with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts designed to ensure access to quality live arts experiences for every pre-K-8 student in Harrisonburg.
