"Performance perfection! ... a gem!

Broadway World

The Forbes Center has found out that travel problems created by Hurricane Florence are going to wreak havoc on the national tour schedule for Lonesome Traveler. The company is unlikely to make it to Harrisonburg for the performance given the inevitability of airline cancellations and delayed flights. The company has decided to postpone the engagement and reschedule on another date. The good news is that the performance will remain on the season. The box office will reach out to all ticket buyers again when we have a new date for the show. We apologize for the inconvenience. Many thanks for your continued patronage of the Forbes Center for the Performing Arts.

Experience the enduring power and popularity of American folk music with Lonesome Traveler, the stirring concert version of the acclaimed Off-Broadway musical that The New York Times called “illuminating… revelatory… achingly beautiful.” Celebrating the legacy of folk as the soundtrack of social change and moral revolution, Lonesome Traveler takes audiences on a journey down the rivers and streams of American folk music—from the hills of Appalachia to the nightclubs of New York and San Francisco. Along the way, the performers pay homage to legendary folk musicians including Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Joni Mitchell, The Byrds, Simon & Garfunkel, Crosby, Stills & Nash, as well as Peter, Paul and Mary. “A supremely talented cast of singer-musicians” (Stage Scene L.A.) will perform songs like “Blowin’ in the Wind,” “Puff the Magic Dragon” and “This Land is Your Land” in a production lauded by The Los Angeles Times as “a warm, embracing communal experience... in a way, an expression of an ideal America.”  www.lonesometravelermusical.com
